Villa Dionysus

Villa Dionysus is situated in the immediate vicinity of the coast in the turquoise bay of Gradina, only 5 km away from the town of Vela Luka on the breathtaking island of Korčula.

The exterior of the villa is a magnificent example of Mediterranean architecture, a harmony of the valued Brač stone, a beautifully forged fence and marble embellishment.

Created to enjoy, admire and be spoiled

The building was formed to replace a small Dalmatian house which was reformed into a beautiful luxury villa. Every detail of the villa is made from the valued Brač stone, forged fence or exquisite plates. When inside, it will make you feel like a true Greek god for the owner, a hedonist by soul and an aesthete by heart, created it for himself and his family.

A mere 20 meters from the pebble-rock beach, villa Dionysus consists of the main house and a guest house (which, although a part of the villa estate, can be completely separated from the main house).

Six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms can easily host between 12 and 14 people if children are included it these numbers.

The main house includes two floors, the ground floor and the first floor.

The ground floor boasts with complete kitchen facilities, including a dining room, a bathroom, and one bedroom with a double bed and a terrace with outdoor terrace furniture. A few stairs bring you to a mezzanine revealing a luxurious living room with LCD panel and a romantic fireplace.

The first floor exhibits 4 bedrooms each with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom as well as an exit to a balcony with a striking view of the sea which you can admire from the comfortable terrace furniture.

The guest house is situated right next to the main house giving the impression of an apartment: a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom with a balcony uncovering a stunning view of the sea.

The surroundings of the villa are rich with Mediterranean vegetation where a path through a small olive tree plantation leads to a pebble-rock beach only 20 meters away.

The most wonderful part of this Greek fairytale

There is a large pool with a waterfall, heated salt water and a massage Jacuzzi on the terrace. The terrace surrounding the pool is equipped with wooden beds (the picture shows previous, plastic beds) and a shade. Rounding up this magnificence is a breathtaking view of the sea, the smaller islands and anchored sailboats. The exquisite location of the villa, the large pool and a light breeze (summer mistral) will enable you to experience uplifting moments in the hot summer days of your vacation.

There is a hacienda – a thatched terrace located by the pool which can be converted into a closed space (all glass - to keep the beautiful view of the breathtaking turquoise bay still in sight) with a table and chairs as well as an external grill. It is ideal for family meals, social gatherings and parties. On request, the charming owner will be happy to assist you in the making of delicious Dalmatian specialities while entertaining you with his genuine sense of humour, unbelievable life energy (despite his age) and high spirits.

The Villa has an external grill (actually two, one next to the guest house and another by the main terrace), an external solar shower and a special room – an event room (completed with a wine bar, a pool table, darts and table football).

A Finnish sauna is a speciality as Dionysus is the only villa on the island equipped with it. Apart from the sauna there is also an internal Jacuzzi, a massage unit and fitness devices in the Wellness-spa area. The estate is surrounded with Mediterranean vegetation.

The external pool is heated while the pool hacienda/terrace can be completely closed making Dionysus an ideal destination in the winter months as well. The pool is filled with salt water with a built-in patented system for preserving the hygiene of the water developed in South Africa. The pool water is therefore not chlorinated.

Divine interior

Air-conditioning is available throughout the villa Dionysus as well as satelite television, DVD and CD player. The villa is equipped with a stove, a refrigerator and a freezer,

a dishwasher, a washing machine, a drier, a coffee maker, a juice maker, a blender, a playpen, a children´s chair (on request), a balcony, a terrace, a pool, an internal fireplace, two external grills, terrace furniture, beds, shades, a garden, an internal and external Jacuzzi, a Finnish sauna, a fitness room, a massage room, a playroom and five parking spaces.

THE SORROUNDINGS

According to the locals and numerous tourists, the village of Gradina is one of the most beautiful bays on the island of Korčula. An astounding turquouise colour of the sea, a charming view of the delightful little island of Gubesa and many anchored sailboats only add to the uniqueness of this endearing village.

Despite the fact that the bay is large, it is very well protected from the majority of the winds. Facing west gives the bay a refreshing mistral wind in the hot summer months. There are mostly pebble beaches in the bay (small white stones) and partially rock beaches with concrete piers making them suitable for children as well as those who like to take the occasional dive from the pier.

A path (20 m) leads to a pebble beach from the villa. There is a private parking space for 5 cars next to the villa. The distance from the sea and the beach (a pebble beach with small white stones and partially with rocks) is only 20 m away, the first shop and bakery as well as the first restaurant is 600 m away and the town of Vela Luka is 5 kilometres away.

The capital city of Korčula is 50 km away and the Dubrovnik airport is 180 km away.

Every year on the 24th June a regatta is held in the honour of St. Ivan (there is also a chapel in his honour dating back to the 14th century) in the Gradina bay. Numerous events are held during this occasion with an entertaining programme attracting the locals and tourists to join.

VILLA DIONYSUS THROUGH TANJA´S EYES

I was captured by the villa´s views of the breathtaking bay and its turquoise colours unfolding from the terrace and the balconies. The colours inside the villa are no less impressive, especially the purples and the gentle blues of the bedrooms creating a playful and cheerful mood. The fact that each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and an exit to the balcony creates immediate intimacy for a couple while an exquisite pool area (thatched terrace and an external grill) perfectly connects all the guests into a homogeneous group where fun, good spirits and laughter are inevitable.

As a woman who loves being spoiled, I was particularly enthusiastic about the Finnish sauna, the possibility of a massage with aromatic oils and the massage function provided in the external pool along with the internal Jacuzzi.

The attention and love put into the making of the villa are felt with each step you take and fill a person with joie de vivre! The owner, who may be a discreet gardener or a welcoming local, captures you with his energy, high spirits and countless life experiences. He is an absolute showman who will have you laughing to tears in a matter of minutes! Impressed with his endless energy I suddenly realised the profound connection between his character and the name of the villa: Dionysus – Greek god of wine, entertainment and hedonism!

In addition to the beautiful villa, I wanted the scent of the sea and a swimming pool for a quick dive. I got all requested, so I am more than satisfied with Adriatic Pearls. I was also impressed by the excellent location and friendly owner.
