Only 60 m to the first beach

The rocky beach with piers is accessible by descending on a path past the neighbour house, however, the path is not suitable for a baby buggy (an neither is the beach as it is rocky and only partly pebble). The beach on the other side of the bay is pebble and therefore suitable for small children. It is 600 m away from the apartments.

Sandy beaches for small children and a pool next to the apartments

Lumbarda is known for its two sandy beaches which are shallow for quite some time and are 2 km away from the apartment. There is also a pool next to the house, perfect for little enthusiasts who like to paddle in the water and play with friends while the parents lie on the sun beds and read their favourite book or prepare dinner on one of the two barbecues on the large common terrace.

For families

Smaller apartments can host up to 4 persons and are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor. They have 1 separate bedroom with a double bed and there is a pull-out sofa for two (90x200 and 80x190) in the living room. Every apartment has a lovely en-suite bathroom with a shower and a smaller balcony with a table and 4 chairs (app. 2m x 2m) overlooking the sea side.

The sea can be seen from one of the apartments on the 1st floor, while the other overlooks the neighbour house. The apartments on the 2nd floor have a beautiful view of the sea.

All apartments naturally have air-conditioning and SAT TV.

Larger family or a larger group of friends

The larger apartment on the groundfloor can host up to 8 people. There is a double bed in one bedroom and in the other, larger bedroom, there are two double beds separated by a wardrobe. The living room has a pull-out sofa for 2 (90x190 cm for both beds), and there is also a kitchen and a large dining table for 8. In front of the entrance to the apartment is an area intended for a terrace with garden furniture (table and chairs).

There is a pool next to the house and a covered terrace with 2 barbecues, tables and chairs, complete with a breathtaking view of the sea. All guests of the apartments may use the terrace which is also an excellent meeting point for families and enjoying in barbecue specialities which you can eat on the terrace overlooking the sea.

There is a parking area for 6 vehicles next to the house.

SURROUNDINGS, BEACH, ADVENTURES

The apartment house is situated in Lumbarda, only 6 km away from the lovely Korcula with the magnificent old town center.

There is a famous restaurant (150m) near the apartments, you will need 300 m to reAch the first shop, and 500 m to the center of Lumbarda, where you can rent a sailboat or a boat. The diving center is also in the center of Lumbarda.

Lumbarda is situated on the south cape of Korcula island. It is surrounded with sandy beaches, the two most famous being Bili Zal and Przina. Numerous small islands, scattered on the sea and its surroundings create long shoals and offer ideal conditions for water sports as well as paddling around the water.

The path to the beach is filled with picturesque vineyards while you inhale the aroma of the sea, the greenery and admire the colours of the Mediterranean. In the evening you can enjoy the local gastronomy at the restaurants by the sea.

There is a pool next to the house and a thatched terrace with 2 barbecues, tables and chairs, complete with a breathtaking view of the sea. All guests of the apartments may use the terrace and it is an excellent meeting point for families and enjoying in barbecue specialities which you can eat on the terrace overlooking the sea.

Beaches

The first beach is next to the apartment, only a 60-m descent to reach the rocky-pebble beach. The first pebble beach (small white stones) is 600 m away while the sandy beach with a long shoal (the water reaches your knees the first 50 m) is 2 km away.

The latter beach is 2 km away from the apartment and it is called Bili Zal and Vela Przina (two beaches). Przina is a sandy beach visited by numerous tourists during the summer, especially families with small children. There is also a bar and a restaurant on the beach.

Discovering the island's rich shore, you will find more secluded beaches and also nudist beaches.

Lumbarda therefore offers all 3 possible types of beaches and is an excellent starting-point for discovering the island (the indispensable Pupnat harbour, the island of Proizd with its pebble beaches which you can visit by boat from Vela Luka and the town of Korcula with a beautiful old town).

How do I reach Lumbarda?

There are 3 ways to reach Lumbarda: from any point in Europe, you pass Slovenia to reach Split and then take a 2,5-hour drive to Vela Luka (a town in Korcula) and then a forty-minute drive to Lumbarda.

The second possibility is that you drive on from Split for a while to the town of Ploče and board a ferry for Vela Luka there (it runs seldom and is cheaper but it only runs in high season) and then you need around 40 minutes to reach Lumbarda by car.

The third option is to take the car to Mali Ston and then through the whole Peljesac peninsula (1 hour) and then the ferry to Orebic in Peljesac to the town of Korcula (a 15-minute ferry drive) from where you only need 15 km to Lumbarda.

APARTMENTS BY THE POOL THROUGH TANJA´S EYES

The house is ideal for larger families and families with small children. With the help of the baby phone parents can enjoy their afternoons in sun beds by the pool while their children take a nap. In the afternoon when parents and children don't feel like going back to the beaches, the pool comes very handy. The children can happily paddle in the pool while the parents prepare dinner on the barbecue and enjoy the company of other families who are also spending time on the terrace.

Lumbarda has 2 sandy beaches which are best reached by car (a parking possibility is nearby, although a rough one). If your children are older, it is a wonderful idea to reach the beach by bike (rented or your own).

The villa owners come from Slovenia and you can feel the artistic inspiration of the owner's wife who has invested a lot of love and taste in furnishing the apartments with a sense for aesthetics.

The apartments therefore resonate wonderful energy!

The center of this small town is nearby and you can enjoy your morning coffee or dinner there.

Those who crave a more adventurous experience can head to the charming Korcula (6 km away) – here you can begin your tour by walking through the old town you will instantly fall in love with, take a look at the stands, have pancakes and finish off by heading for a cocktail in the famous bar in the tower of the city walls (you reach the bar by climbing a wooden ladder – an amazing experience)!
